EGR Deletes

What is an EGR Valve? (Exhaust gas recirculation)

The EGR valve works by recirculating a measured amount of the exhaust gases back into the engine through the air intake system, reducing the combustion temperature and there for reducing the amount of NOx produced.

The problems.

Engine exhaust contains carbon deposits. The exhaust being recirculated through the engine, over time will cause carbon deposits to build-up in the EGR valve inlet manifold throttle body etc. This build up is responsible for multiple failures including the EGR valves themself.

Symptoms

There are multiple faults and symptoms that can point towards a faulty / blocked EGR Valve.

EGR Valve Fault Symptoms:

Loss of power

Lower fuel consumption

Reduced throttle response

Limp Mode

Warnings:

Engine Management Light

Flashing Glow Plug Light

Benefits of removing the EGR Valve

Improved Throttle Response

Improved Economy

Reduces Oil Contamination

Reduces Carbon Deposits in the engine

Reduced Repair Cost

Please Note:

In the UK it is illegal to remove any of the original emissions equipment fitted to a vehicle from the factory. It is the customers responsibility to ensure they comply with the rules. JSL Automotive accepts no responsibility for the removal or software delete of the EGR system if used on the public highway.
